Once spoken by millions of Jews in Central and Eastern Europe, Yiddish is still used by people around the world in everyday expressions. ‘A lot of people use Yiddish words without even knowing they’re doing it,’ said Barbara Merson, executive director of the Maine Jewish Film Festival, which organized the event.
