You Only Die Twice April 4-7-2021

When Israeli director Yair Lev’s mother inherits a house from a distant relative, she finds out that her father died twice – as Ernst Bechinsky in Palestine and Ernst Bechinsky in Austria.  But which one was the real Ernst Bechinsky and which the imposter? Lev is determined to unravel this complicated history full of deceptions and forgeries, reaching from Zagreb to Tel Aviv.  The result is a compelling documentary ‘detective’ thriller, full of the surprises that correspond  to rules of the genre in its dynamic cinematic approach.
