Shockwaves

Gut wrenching and captivating, this film follows three Israeli families, with a member who has been physically or psychologically wounded through combat or terror. It is impossible to turn away as so much is revealed about the struggles of survivors as well as those who live with and care for them. Spouses, children, parents and grandparents cope with drastic changes in their loved ones in innocent, tender, and sometimes conflicted ways; and we learn how they, too, are indelibly altered. The filmmaker, inspired by her own experience as a child of a wounded war veteran, sends a powerful and relevant message about the trans-generational and societal consequences of war. Dr. David Fagin and Dr. Josh Schoenfeld, experts on post-traumatic stress, will lead a discussion after the film discussion.
