A group of young Israelis with Down syndrome embarks on a trek through the Himalayas accompanied by their “normal” sisters and brothers. Preparation level and medical safety are sometimes questionable; a non-Down syndrome sibling wonders, “Are we doing it for them or for us?” Exquisite cinematography of the Himalayas is interspersed with family photos, videos and intimate interviews highlighting the complexities of growing up in a family with a Down syndrome member. The film movingly captures a range of personalities and relationships, unresolved conflicts, and transforming insights that the trekkers achieve about each other and themselves.
