This classic,Yiddish language silent film uncovers the richness of  literary giant, Sholem Aleichem. Based on his series of stories featuring the character Menakhem Mendl, JEWISH LUCK revolves around this daydreaming entrepreneur and his doomed strike-it-rich schemes. Against the backdrop of Jewish oppression in Tsarist Russia, our protagonist pursues his dreams as his continued persistence transforms him from schlemiel to hero. Featuring Eduard Tissé’s ground-breaking cinematography, Jewish Luck is an artistic and historical treasure.
