“Raising you is like raising 3 kids,” the deaf child Elad was told by his beloved mother years before her tragic death deepened his alienation from his hearing family. A gay man, he becomes a father through shared parenting with his best friend, a deaf woman, supported by their community of deaf friends. How will his deafness affect his role as a parent? Elad must create his life without a road map. This film follows Elad over several years as, with intimacy and honesty, he explores family, fatherhood and identity. Members of deaf and hearing communities encouraged to attend. Post-film discussion led by Roxanne Baker, lifelong member of the Portland deaf community.
