House of Z

Fashion is more than just beautiful clothes – it’s a business.  In chronicling the meteoric rise, fall and rise of the young fashion designer Zac Posen, this documentary gives the filmgoer an insider’s view of the fashion industry.  The son of an artist and a lawyer living in SoHo, Mr. Posen first draped fabric on dolls as a toddler.   His quick, celebrity-fueled rise in fashion is mythic, yet within only a decade, his company had imploded.  His recovery from setbacks, professional and personal, is an instructive lesson in faith, talent, and growth.  And yes, the clothes are beautiful.  This film will be followed by a discussion led by MECA instructor and local apparel business owner Jill McGowan.
