Double Income, Kids

A gay couple living in Tel Aviv plans for the birth of two children by a surrogate mother in Portland, Oregon, 7,000 miles away from the Israeli city.  From explanations of fertility treatments to the bittersweet memories of their respective parents’ responses to their coming out, Double Income Kids paints a picture of everyday life in Israel at the same time that it explores complicated family dynamics. Heartfelt, intimate and refreshingly honest. Director Hendrik Schäfer. joins MJFF for a live conversation on Wednesday, November 10 at 2PM. Sponsored by the Center for Small Town Jewish Life at Colby
