Butterflies In Berlin: A Soul Split in Two

Director Monica Manganelli’s lyrical animated film, inspired by real historical events, is a layered and poignant exploration of gender identity. Alex arrives in the wild and liberal Berlin of the Weimar era. As he explores his sexual identity, he meets Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, a pioneer in the field of transsexualism studies, as the world around him becomes engulfed by the Nazi nightmare. Breathtaking art deco-style animation and a stunning musical score make this evocative film unforgettable.

Antonio Padovani, the producer of Butterflies in Berlin, will be in attendance.

Butterflies in Berlin will be shown as part of Different Perspectives: 3 views of The Holocaust
