After Auschwitz

Not a typical Holocaust film, After Auschwitz follows the journey of six diverse, extraordinary women, who struggled through trauma and tragedy to make new lives in Los Angeles. They married, raised children, worked, became citizens, but never truly found home. Superb pacing and editing weave together archival footage and interviews in a way that reveals both the women’s post-Holocaust reflections and the changing face of post-war America. Never maudlin or sentimental, this film honors these determined survivors with a story that is heartbreaking, celebratory, inspiring and relevant to our time.

This program is made possible by the filmmaker Jon Kean and by the Robinov Family in honor of Jerry Robinov.
