MJFF will be screening the short film Edek, one of the films that was going to be part of the 2020 Maine Jewish Film Festival:

What happens when an 85 year-old Holocaust survivor teams up with an African-American rapper to make a film? Holocaust survivor Janine Webber and Connecticut-based hip hop artist Kapoo, 43, collaborate to deliver a Hip Hop message to the youth of the world. A poignant and uniquely challenging fusion of prose, music and rap. For the first time, one of the world’s darkest stories is told in an entirely new way. Created by the UK National Centre and Museum.

How do you get YouTube-obsessed teens to learn from the atrocities of the Holocaust? Hip hop and hashtags, obviously. Read more about how Edek was made.
