A provocative, haunting and even hilarious mockumentary by Argentine Director Gabriel Matías Lichtmann about Laila Salama, an alleged Jewish spy who began to operate against the Nazis in Argentina in the 1930s. In revealing the story of the alleged spy, daughter of an M16 agent, and youth beauty queen in the Queen Esther pageants in Argentina, the film takes on a life of its own that lives up to the intrigue of its subject matter. Combines real and fictional characters, historical events, and footage. There will be a Zoom discussion with the film’s director, Gabriel Lichtmann on Wednesday, November 10 at 1PM. (This was originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 9 at 4pm) Sponsored by Bowdoin College
