MJFF Executive Director Barbara Merson joined Maine Calling on Maine Public for a discussion on Holocaust History: Raising Awareness of the Significance of the Holocaust Among Young People, A recent nationwide study found that Holocaust history is poorly understood by younger Americans today – 60% of young people surveyed did not know the key facts of the Holocaust including that 6 million Jews had lost their lives.
Films are an excellent tool for Holocaust education. We feel that films are a way where you can have people who weren’t there feel the experience and understand and translate the lessons into their own personal lives.
