The sounds of moody Jewish rock and exuberant Jewish wedding music set the scene for the drama Redemption, which focuses on a former rock and roll star who has found religion. Menahem, a former frontman who is now observant, desperately needs money for his daughter’s medical treatments. His only option is to get the band back together. All of the band members have taken different non-religious paths: Danny is a successful restaurateur, Gouli owns a kiosk, and Avi is still chasing women. The band reunites for a series of wedding gigs which are very successful both musically and for the rapport that re-develops among the band members. Will Menahem give up religion and return to the life of a rock musician? And what will happen to his daughter? Redemption answers these questions through a highly intimate portrait of temptation and faith.
