What is life like for  a gay Palestinian millennials  living in Tel Aviv? It’s complicated. In this big hearted documentary from a straight Jewish film director, we meet  three friends who are politically active and assertive about their right to define their own identity and not at all interested in conforming to the expectations of others.  Told with honesty, intelligence and humor, the complex story of an emerging LGBTQ community explores questions of nationality, citizenship, geography, religion, sexual orientation, emotional truth and moral integrity. The narrative is enhanced by music videos from Qambuta Productions, a group of Palestinian LGBTQ creatives probing gender politics in Arabic culture. LGBTQ program  Film will be followed by a discussion led by Shada Diab and Rabbi Rachel Isaacs of Colby College.

This program is made possible by the Equity Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
