Virtual Yiddish Festival: October 1-3

Two of the films we had planned to show at the cancelled March 2020 Maine Jewish Film Festival, were films featuring the rich heritage of Yiddish culture: The Last Klezmer – the Life and Times of Leopold Kozlowski and Black Honey-The Poetry and Life of Avraham Sutzkever.

We are pleased to be able to present these now as a virtual Yiddish Culture Festival October 1 -3. Both films will be available to view virtually from Noon on Friday, October 1 through midnight on Sunday, October 3. Yale Strom, who directed The Last Klezmer and is a Klezmer musician himself, will join MJFF for a live streamed discussion program on Sunday Oct 3 at 7:00 PM. This discussion will be available to all ticket holders for The Last Klezmer.

There will also be a live Zoom Klezmer concert with Rabbi Sruli Dresdner and Lisa Mayer on Saturday, October 2 at 7:30 PM. This will be available to all Virtual Yiddish Festival attendees:  a link to the concert will be sent to all ticket holders.

Tickets are $10 per film or $18 for a pass to both films. If you are new to Eventive, please click here for more info how to use Eventive to buy tickets and watch films.

Thank you to our partner the JCA of Southern Maine.
