Festival Policies


Adult General Admission – $10

Student and Seniors – $8 (Students- through college with ID, Seniors-65 & over)

Opening Night – $40

Closing Night – $18

All Festival Pass – $200

Festival Six Pack – $50

*Brown Paper ticket will charge a per ticket fee (99 cents + 3.5% – for example an $8 tickets is $9.27 including the fee. This fee allows MJFF to sell tickets online, track attendance and gather information regarding the best times and venues for the Festival. Tickets for free events do not have a fee.

Money should not be a barrier to attendance. Please call us at 207-523-3422 if you need discounted tickets.


Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 11 at 9 AM Tickets for Portland and Lewiston events will be sold through Brown Paper Tickets  (or call 1-800-838-3006) or at the door. Tickets will be available at the door 30 minutes prior to show time subject to availability. When a film includes a speaker or panel discussion, admission is included in the ticket price. MJFF is not able to process mail orders for tickets.

Portland All Festival Pass

For $200 the All Festival Pass provides 1 ticket to every film screening in Portland, including the Opening Party, Closing Night Reception and Preview Screening.  Pass-holders will receive their Pass in the mail and will also have their name listed on will call for each screening. AFP holders should arrive 15 minutes before show time and check in with Will Call for seating. Arrivals after show time will be seated subject to availability.  AFP tickets may not combine multiple tickets per film.   The All Festival Pass will be available online until Sunday, March 19 and may also be purchased at the door.

Festival Six Pack

For $50 choose a pack of six tickets in any combination for all Portland screenings except for the Special Preview, Opening Night and Closing Night. The Festival Six Pack should be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets. Once you purchase your Six Pack, you will receive a link that will allow you to choose six tickets in any combination.  Tickets to free events should be purchased separately.


In Portland, the Portland Museum of Art, Nickelodeon Cinema, MECA, CTN, House of Music & Events and Talbot Hall, USM are accessible to people with disabilities. Please call us at 207-523-3422 or email us at with any special needs.
